Well this week certainly went by in a blur. I know we did a lot of fun things but the only way I can really remember is by looking back at the week in pictures
Front row seats to a parade in our neighborhood. Bob and used a coupon to go out to dinner and got window seats at a small Puerto Rican place just as the Dia de los Muertos parade passed by. Puerto Rican food is not amazing, but I like it because I lived there for two years. So the place smells right to me and they have a few dishes are I can't get enough of, like their chicken soup,
On Sunday after church we went to see a play of the Greek tragedy Electra. I was pleased to find this on our seats when we sat down, a thank-you for buying a package of four plays. We are kind of hooked though, we may have to buy these packages every year now!
Dinner at my daughters. I was supposed to work Sunday night but there were several extra nurses training so they let me be "stand-by" and Bob and I went to have dinner with Rebecca and Jon and our new "consuegros"- Jon's parents.
A haircut by my niece. She did a great job and it was fun to go to her beauty school and meet everyone.
Our beautiful city. With the time change I'm getting different views on my drive home. Every time I cross a bridge to come back in to San Francisco I'm thankful that we get to live in such a beautiful place.
Being appreciated. I'm working part time as a pediatric advice nurse and we are highly underpaid. This week I participated in my first bi-yearly RN meeting where the owner of the company acknowledged our low wages and put in place a plan to get us up to a competitive wage. I suspect this means we will have to work harder as well, but I don't mind hard work :) We were rewarded with a few other gifts and a delicious lunch. Best part of it all was that it was with in walking distance of my house.
Here are a couple more wedding pictures for you to enjoy,

I liked your comment on the right smell of the restaurant. Comfort food doesn't have to be spectacular, does it.
Sweet wedding pictures!! Your play package sounds like great fun. Have a great week!
You always seem to do the most interesting things ...
It's great that you were shown appreciation for the job you do. Money is not always everything - if you feel you are making a difference, it helps a lot.
How fun to make sure you and Bob have a date night by buying a 4-pack of plays. that was sure nice to get a free drink coupon too.
I lived in PR for a couple of years too when I was in middle school. The foods I remember loving are papas (from street vendors) and arroz con pollo.
Can you believe that your niece is old enough to cut hair on purpose?! I am always amazed at how quickly my nieces are growing up!
And yes, SF is beautiful. Wish I lived just a little closer so I could visit more often.
Have a great weekend, Brenda.
You do live in a beautiful city! Isn't it interesting how smell is the most evocative of all the senses? One whiff can send us back to a visual memory.
Being shown appreciation for what you do is a blessing. Hard to work when you don't have that.
Love the wedding photos that keep coming.
It's amazing how smells bring back memories.
